Police have released images of two women they wish to trace after an elderly man had his bank details stolen.

A man in his 70s noticed unusual transactions coming out of his account and police were alerted on January 11.

Many of the purchases were from stores across Nottingham including Footlocker where a pair of trainers worth over £100 were purchased.

Officers have carried out a number of lines of inquiry including a CCTV trawl of the shops where the purchases took place.

Police have now released an image of two women they wish to trace who could help them further their investigation.

PC Blake Murphy, who is investigating the incident, said:

“This has caused an immeasurable amount of shock and trauma to the victim, who is very vulnerable.

“Most of the money in his account is to pay for his care. We are determined to catch those responsible for this cruel and calculated crime and to ensure justice is served.

“We have released an image in the hope that the public can assist us with our investigation.

“We believe the two people in this image could help us further our inquiries and we would urge them to get in touch with us immediately.

“Do you recognise the people in the image? Are you the people in the image? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
