British Transport Police are today issuing a CCTV image following an assault on a train between Lincoln and Retford.
Shortly after 6.30 pm on Saturday 7 October a passenger intervened when he saw a man and woman engaged in a verbal altercation, a passenger on the train intervened.
The man then punched the passenger three times causing bruising to his face and swelling to his lip.
Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.
