Image released after teenager attends QMC with stabbing injury

Police have released images of a man we want to trace after a teenager presented at Queen’s Medical Centre with a stab injury.

Police said:

‘We received a call at 11.48pm on Monday 30 August.

‘A 15-year-old boy had arrived at QMC with a stab wound to his lower back. His injuries were not life-threatening or life-altering.

‘The victim said he was with two friends in the city centre, near King Street, when he was attacked by two men.

‘During the attack, he was hit over the head with a glass bottle and following the attack, he has become aware of a stab injury to his back and attended the hospital.

‘We have carried out a number of lines of inquiry including an extensive CCTV trawl to locate the person responsible.

‘We are now in a position to release a number of images of a man that could help further our investigation.’

Detective Constable Demi Robertson, who is investigating the incident, said: “As you would expect, we have a zero tolerance for anyone who comes into the city armed with a weapon and that is why it is vitally important we find the person responsible to stop any further incidents occurring.

“We have released some images of a man that could help us further our inquiries and are calling on the public’s help to identify him.

“While the images are not of the best quality, we believe someone out there will recognise the person pictured.

“Do you know the man pictured? Are you the man pictured? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
