Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify and trace.
The appeal relates to an incident reported to have taken place in Forest Road West, near Nottingham Arboretum, between midnight and 12.15am on Sunday 6 September.
Detectives believe the man pictured may have information that could assist their enquiries and are asking him, or anyone who recognises him, to get in touch.
He is believed to frequent the Arboretum and Radford areas.
Detective Inspector Rachel Mayfield, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We understand that reports of offences of this nature can cause significant concern within the local community.
“I want to reassure residents that we are treating this investigation with the utmost seriousness and have dedicated detectives carrying out a range of enquiries.
“As part of those enquiries, we are keen to identify and speak with the man shown in the CCTV image, as we believe he may have information that could assist our investigation.
“I would urge anyone who recognises him, or who has information that may help, to contact us. If you see this man, we would ask that you do not approach him and call us instead.
“We particularly want to hear from anyone who has dashcam of private CCTV footage recorded at around the time of this incident.”
Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information that could assist officers, is asked to contact 101, quoting incident number 75 of 6 September 2026.
