Image shared after woman hurt trying to stop a fight in Nottingham

Police would like to trace this man after a woman was hurt as she tried to stop a fight.

The woman was knocked to the ground as she tried to hold back an unknown man from attacking her boyfriend during a night out.

She hit her head on the pavement, leaving her with a cut that required hospital treatment.

The incident happened outside a takeaway in Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham, shortly before 3am on Sunday 2 February.

Officers are appealing for the pictured man to come forward as they believe he will be able to assist the investigation.

PC Octavia Watson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a traumatic incident for the victim who was simply trying to stop a man from attacking her partner.

“She didn’t deserve what happened to her and whilst her injury turned out not to be serious, the incident understandably has had a profound effect on her.

“We have reviewed CCTV footage to help establish what happened and have identified a man we would like to trace, as we believe he can assist us with our inquiries.

“I’d ask anyone who recognises him to please call us on 101, quoting crime number 25000064417. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
