Detectives have released a number of pictures of two boys they wish to trace after a student had their laptop and iPad stolen containing irreplaceable coursework.
The incident happened at around 4 pm on Sunday 3 December at a student accommodation building in Queen Street in the city centre.
The victim, aged 21, had left his bag in the common room for about 20 minutes and when he returned the bag was no longer there.
He found it discarded by the pool table with the laptop and iPad missing.
CCTV inquiries found that three boys had entered the building who did not live at the property before the incident took place.
Detective Constable Samuel Richardson, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are treating this incident as a burglary and taking this report extremely seriously.
“We are determined to catch those responsible who have left the student without two devices he needs to complete his degree. The cost of both items was around £2,500. However, the real cost is the work he had on these devices which he is unlikely to get back.
“We have released a series of images of two boys that could help us with our inquiries. If you recognise the two boys in these pictures or if you are the two boys in these pictures, we urge you to get in touch as soon as possible.”
