Speaking to The Wire this morning Friday 17 May the airport operator Brian Wells explained that on the grounds of airport safety and the possible need for emergency responses etc unfortunately the event can not take place. Anyone arriving at the event will be turned away.

This will be the first of a monthly car meet at the airport diner Chocks Away! – to help raise the profile of the closing of the airport due to housing development.
50-60 classic cars have confirmed attendance at the event.
The show is on Sunday 19 May from 10:30 am – FREE.
