Intelligence leads to ‘large drugs find’ after raid at an address in The Meadows

Officers discovered a drugs haul and made two arrests after intelligence led them to check in on a house.

Concerns had been raised around activity at a property in Ladysmock Gardens, The Meadows, and as a result local officers attended to conduct checks.

When they arrived, officers knocked on the door and spotted a group trying to run from the property.

They quickly detained two people and then entered the property, where they found a large quantity of cannabis, deal bags and scales.

Two men, aged 20 and 23, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of both possession of class B drugs and possession with intent to supply class B drugs on Friday (4 February 2022).

They have both since been bailed with conditions as the investigation continues.

Police Constable Adam Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The development of this incident just goes to show how important our proactive way of working can be. By simply conducting a check on people in a property we had received concerns about, we have been able to take a significant amount of drugs off the streets and out of circulation.

“Working together, neighbourhood and response officers did an excellent job of bringing the suspects into custody and seizing the findings.

“Working to solve drug-related activity is a priority for us on the city south teams, and it is something we will work robustly on due to the inherent links between drugs and wider serious and organised criminality.

“Residents can be assured of our commitment to listening to information and concerns they’re telling us about and acting on them accordingly. We would urge anyone with concerns about criminal activity in their area to get in touch on 101 or speak directly to local officers in the area.”
