Interior design showcased at new East Leake homes

In a survey conducted by David Wilson Homes, it was found that 28% of residents in Nottinghamshire would choose to buy a new build due to it being a blank canvas.

The brand new show homes were recently unveiled on Rempstone Road and serve as examples of the latest interior design trends that homeowners can apply to their own property.

In a survey conducted by David Wilson Homes, it was found that 28% of residents in Nottinghamshire would choose to buy a new build due to it being a blank canvas.

With this in mind, the leading developer’s show homes are designed to provide interior design inspiration.

One of the properties; the four bedroom Winstone style home, features a woodland wonderland in the uniquely designed children’s bedroom. The focus on nature mirrors the housebuilder’s commitment to wildlife at The Skylarks, which features bat and bird boxes, in addition to hedgehog highways.

Another of the bedrooms is designed to suit a young mathematician and includes a dedicated workspace as the ability to work from home has now become a top priority among prospective buyers.

Kate Letteriello, Managing Director of Artspace Interior Design, said: “The development is located amongst farmland so we wanted to have a nod to a country feel and outdoor living in the Winstone.

“We created a warm colour palette with taupes and charcoal, along with rustic warm wood and patterned fabrics to add texture.

“In the study, we have gone for a fishing theme as a nod to Kingston Brook that is close to the community.”

The second of the show homes to have opened at the brand new community in East Leake is a three bedroom Hadley style home, which provides a visual insight into how flexible living can be achieved for first time buyers and growing families.

Kate added: “In the Hadley, we have gone for a light and bright show home with a fresh palette of various shades of green. We used light oak elements with plenty of texture to keep the home feeling warm.

“We used green as it’s such a versatile colour! It can be really soft and calming as showcased in the main bedroom, but also bold and fun as seen in the living room.

“To represent a younger profile, we used bold patterns throughout the wallpapers and used accessories to show a couple who love to travel and socialise with friends.”

Also revealed in the survey by David Wilson Homes was that 68% of residents would choose to use a spare room for a hobby; something which can be done with ease due to the versatility of the properties.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Interior design is an important part of establishing a new home for many homebuyers and we’re looking to provide prospective buyers with much needed inspiration.

“Whilst we encourage people to make an appointment to secure time with our Sales Advisers at The Skylarks, we’re still able to provide potential buyers with the opportunity to find inspiration for their own property and to decorate in a way that suits them and the whole family.”

There is currently a selection of two and four bedroom homes available with prices starting from £204,995.
