intu has announced the closure of the busy walkway from Collin Street through to the city centre.
In a statement intu said:
intu Broadmarsh is now temporarily closed
‘In March we paused the development work at Broadmarsh because of the Covid-19 pandemic and more
recently due to our financial position.
‘We have been reviewing the site for a number of weeks and earlier this month we made the decision to temporarily close our doors with construction at a standstill and the site the way it currently is.
‘There are health and safety concerns to take into account and we’re not prepared to put anyone at risk, safety is always our priority.
‘We have since decided to take our precautionary measure a step further and now the walkway and entrances between Collin Street and Lister Gate are also now closed.
‘We know this will be disappointing news as many Nottingham people use the walkthrough.
‘The safety of our employees and visitors always comes first and this has guided our decision.’
