Firefighters are visiting Waterloo Road and the surrounding areas this week to offer reassurance and give fire safety advice.
We were called to the ground floor of a building in Waterloo Road, Beeston just before 1pm on Friday 30 July.
Crews from West Bridgford and Highfields Fire Station attended, as well as Long Eaton Fire Station from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
A woman who is believed to have been the only person inside the flat, was sadly found and pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation to determine the cause of the incident remains ongoing.

“We recognise that residents may have been affected by this incident so we will be in the local area this week to speak with them and offer fire safety advice.
