Investigation launched after fire crews deal with derelict building blaze

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze in Hucknall.

A spokesperson said:

‘We were called at 1:03 am on Saturday 7 January to a derelict building fire on Albert Street, Hucknall. The fire was on the ground floor of the building.

‘Crews from Hucknall, Stockhill, Arnold and Mansfield were mobilised to the incident, including Mansfield’s aerial ladder platform.

‘On arrival, the building was well alight. Firefighters used 10 breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one jet short extension, breaking in gear and a nine-metre ladder to extinguish the fire.

‘No injuries were reported. We left the scene by 9am after inspecting for hotspots throughout the night.

‘A fire investigation is taking place today (Saturday 7 January) to determine the cause of the fire.’
