An investigation into the incident will launch today.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 8:33 pm on Saturday 29 January:
‘We are currently in attendance at a serious house fire on Forster Street in Kirkby-in-Ashfied.
‘Five fire engines and the aerial ladder platform are working to dampen down the fire.
‘We ask that members of the public are patient and avoid the area.’

In an update at 9:48 pm they added:
‘Two crews remain on scene to dampen down the fire.
‘A fire investigation will be taking place tomorrow ( Sunday 30 January).
‘Please continue to avoid the area if at all possible.’
