Investigation underway in Nottingham after victim suffers critical injuries in assault

The attack near Nottingham College Hub followed an altercation with a group of around five to ten people who then ran from the scene in the direction of High Pavement and Cliff Road.

Police cordons are in place next the college entrance to Sussex Street, at the Nottingham Contemporary steps on High Pavement and at the steps on Middle Hill from the tram line pedestrian area.

 

Nottinghamshire Police said:

At around 6:50 pm on Tuesday 5 December a 24-year-old man suffered critical injuries after being assaulted at the Sussex Street Skatepark walkway underneath the tramline, near the Nottingham College Hub building.

The incident resulted in the victim sustaining a life-threatening head injury.

Paramedics attended the scene and the victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre where he remains.

A police presence remains at the scene this morning (6 December) as officers continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident.
