Jail for man who threatened woman repeatedly with a gas-powered gun

A man who reportedly threatened a woman with a gas-powered BB gun after an argument between them has been locked up.

The gun was found hidden behind a wooden boiler cover following the disturbance on 6 January 2023.

Police Constable Zoe East, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“The gun that Vulcan used to threaten the victim looked very realistic. She believed it was real, causing her fear of immediate violence.

“Although it was a gas-powered BB gun, it was tested and had the capability of firing over that of an imitation, making it a viable firearm.

“As shown in this case, we treat all reports of firearms offences incredibly seriously and will always thoroughly investigate.

“There is simply no excuse for anyone to threaten someone with a firearm, real or otherwise, or indeed to behave in a violent manner at all.

“This incident should serve as a warning to anyone thinking of brandishing an imitation firearm that this will always be met with robust action by Nottinghamshire Police.
