James Naish MP has launched the Rushcliffe Small Business Awards for 2025, celebrating the outstanding contribution that local businesses make to the community and the local economy.
The awards, which will be given on Small Business Saturday on 6th December, shine a light on the diverse and dynamic small businesses that help make Rushcliffe a fantastic place to live, work and visit.
James said: “Our area is home to a wealth of brilliant businesses that play a vital role in our community and contribute millions of pounds to the local economy. It’s important that we recognise their work in the run-up to Christmas.”
Residents can now nominate their favourite small businesses in Rushcliffe across six categories:
- Best Small Shop – From the friendly corner shop to delightful bakeries, this award honours the shops that capture the heart of our community and keep people coming back for more.
- Best Health, Beauty and Leisure Service – Celebrate the businesses that prioritise your well-being, from the local gym to the reliable pharmacist or the nail bar that makes you feel fabulous inside and out.
- Best Trade Service – Nominate your go-to tradesperson – the reliable plumber, the skilled technician, or the mechanic who provides exceptional service to Rushcliffe residents.
- Best Hospitality Business – From pubs and restaurants to takeaways, this category recognises hospitality businesses that bring people together and make our communities special.
- Best Professional Service – For the professionals who make a difference every day – accountants, tutors, solicitors and others whose expertise supports local people and businesses.
- Best Rural Business – Celebrating the entrepreneurs in our smaller villages who value nature, champion sustainability, and help put rural Rushcliffe on the map.
The deadline for nominations is Sunday 30th November and James aims to visit each winner on Saturday 6th December (Small Business Saturday) to present their awards in person.
James added, “I want these awards to shine a spotlight on the creativity, dedication and community spirit that define our small business community. Having run businesses myself, I know how hard individuals and small teams often have to work to stay afloat, so they deserve recognition. Small businesses are key to making Rushcliffe thrive.”
