Detectives are appealing for information to help trace a JCB mini digger and a ride-on roller which were stolen from a building site in Keyworth last weekend.
The two vehicles, which are thought to be worth as much as £20,000, were taken from the site on Platt Lane, Keyworth sometime between 4 pm on Friday 10 July and 7 am on Monday 13 July.
It is believed that thieves forced their way onto the site by breaking a lock before stealing the vehicles – possibly by using other vehicles to help transport them away from the site.
Now detectives investigating the thefts are appealing for the public to come forward if they saw anything suspicious in the area or have any information about the stolen vehicles.
Sergeant Andrew Gaunt, leading the investigation at Nottinghamshire Police said: “We are keen to ascertain how the JCB’s were taken, especially as their theft has left hard-working construction workers unable to work and their employers facing an expensive bill to replace them.
“We are keen to piece together what happened and I would like to speak to anyone who may have been in Keyworth over the weekend and saw these JCB’s. I would encourage anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information about the thefts or the whereabouts of the vehicles is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 130 of 13 July when they call.
