Lady Bay Arts Festival announces theme for 2017 event

Following on from the success of last year’s festival, the community of Lady Bay will be hosting another fantastic arts festival on the weekend 20th & 21st May.

A total of 30 venues will open across Lady Bay in homes, studios, gardens and businesses. With over 80 artists taking part, the ARTS TRAIL will feature top artists and designers, many who have shown before but bringing with them new work.

There will also be artists showing for the first time giving an element of surprise and something regular audiences can look forward to. Expect a weekend of diverse art, opportunities to meet artists, see them at work and a chance to experience high quality art and buy direct from artists.

The festival is recognised as Nottinghamshire’s largest artist led community event with exhibiting artists and designers selected from the region’s galleries, artists’ studios and creative hubs in Nottingham and the East Midlands.

Supported by volunteers living in semi rural Lady Bay and bordering the River Trent and Grantham canal, a special welcome is extended to giving everyone an immersive experience of contemporary art that is both different from galleries and usual art exhibitions, and more accessible.

FABRICATION is the new 2017 theme – artists across the arts trail will show work that responds to the theme. This will include a large scale community art installation at All Hallows Church. Elsewhere there will be many forms of art and design fabricating and transforming materials…

Admission: £3.00 per adult (includes 12 page colour brochure, map and entry to all sites and venues). Free entry for Children under 16.
