This year’s Lady Bay Safari Sale looks set to be a great day out!
It follows on from the phenomenal success of last year’s event which saw the streets of Lady Bay thronged with shoppers, browsers and lots of friendly folk looking to uncover treasures to take home. The feedback that the organisers received was overwhelmingly positive and there were many requests to make it an annual event.
Sellers made use of their front gardens, driveways and surrounding spaces to set up stalls to sell their wares; some homemade, some preloved and some new, but all needing a new home. Neighbourly friendships were forged and the whole event was hailed a success.
This year there will be more of the same – 140 households will take part, selling plants and furniture, jewellery and collectables and everything in between. There are house clearances, down sizers, charitable fundraisers as well as numerous street food stalls to keep the bargain hunters fuelled throughout the day – you may even catch some live music, if you’re lucky!
The Safari Sale team are hoping to help save as many items as possible from languishing, unused in lofts, garages, under beds and in cellars or from just being thrown away. The event is planned and organised by the Lady Bay Primary School PTA to help raise vital funds for the school and to help continue the unique Lady Bay community spirit.
Maps and stall lists are on sale now at various outlets throughout Lady Bay for 50p. The sale runs from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 10th June. Please go to www.facebook.com/ladybaysafari for more information
