Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi says he wants his players to put last weekend’s disappointing result behind them when they travel to Leeds United on Saturday.
An entertaining encounter is in store in front of a sell-out crowd at Elland Road and Lamouchi says the best way for his players to respond to the West Bromwich Albion defeat is by turning in a strong performance against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “The West Brom result impacted on the players a little bit but I’m asking them to keep their confidence up because I know they can play as well as they did in the first ten minutes. That is why I want players here with personality and experience because we will go through tough times but it is how we respond to those tough times that is important.
“We know that Leeds have a fantastic manager who plays with an excellent philosophy and we know that it will be a very intense atmosphere at Elland Road. They have more or less the same squad which reached the play-offs last season so we know how difficult a game it will be.”
Following the closure of the transfer window, Lamouchi now gets down to work with his new-look squad and the Forest head coach is pleased that all focus now turns to matters on the pitch.
He said: “I’m happy because the transfer window is finished so we can focus now on the players we have. We’ve changed a lot of players and the club has done the maximum to satisfy all of my requests so now we are looking forward to working with our players.
“All the players are working in a really professional way and in a really good atmosphere at the training ground. Last week was a strange one for me because we had a fantastic week and then we had a bad result in the first game which I don’t really think we deserved.
“We haven’t had a training session with all of our new players involved so I’m looking forward to getting everyone involved. We have a very difficult game at Leeds tomorrow so all of our focus needs to go on that game and to try and achieve a good result.”
