Langar Fire: Firefighters remain at the scene extinguishing the blaze

Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service are still at the scene at Langar Airfield tackling the blaze which started on Thursday afternoon.

Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service said:

UPDATE 10:23 am 23 May: Langar Airfield Industrial Estate

‘Our firefighters are currently working closely with the site owners to gain access and continue to extinguish the fire (23 May). We have five appliances and one ALP in attendance. Please continue to keep doors and windows closed.

‘If you are a local resident and live near to the Langar Airfield Industrial Estate fire we are asking you to keep your windows & doors closed, if you have smoke in your garden or around your homes.

The service was called at 2:43 pm on Thursday 21 May following reports of a fire. Crews from Newark, Melton Mowbray, London Road, Highfields, East Leake, Stockhill, Southwell, Bingham along with three water carriers from Worksop, Loughborough and Clay Cross attended.’
