A suspected teenage drug dealer was arrested after police found hundreds of wraps of heroin and cocaine when they searched a Meadows home.
Officers were on patrol in The Meadows, Nottingham, around 5 pm on Saturday (3 February) when they approached a suspect they believed was behaving suspiciously.
The suspect fled from the City Knife Crime Team officers but was detained after a brief foot chase.
Officers found wraps of heroin, a mobile phone and cash in his pockets when they searched.
During further searches of a property in Beauvale Road, they were able to seize large quantities of crack cocaine and heroin as well as equipment associated with drug dealing.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
Police Constable Ken Tinley, of Nottinghamshire Police’s city knife crime team, said:
“Our patrol work as a team is primarily aimed around taking knives off the streets, but we also take positive action whenever we spot suspected drug crime taking place.
“This is another good example of why we undertake proactive stop and searches like this.
“It also highlights why we follow up these stops by searching properties as part of our investigations.
“As a knife crime team these stops are an important part of our work and are making a real difference to keep our streets safe.
“We will always take action to stop criminals using our streets to push drugs to vulnerable people and spread misery for their own profits.
