Members of the travelling community have arrived on Landmere Lane.
Update Monday 11 April:
The travellers have all moved on from this site. They left the site on Sunday 10 April.
A community has pitched up on land just past Notcutts ( Wheatcroft ) Garden Centre on Landmere Lane in Edwalton.
Around 30 to 40 vehicles and caravans are parked up on land adjacent to the A52.
The site is at the turn for the new Aldi and McDonald’s in Edwalton on the A52 Wheatcroft roundabout, past McDonald’s and the Notcutts car park.
Local residents say they have been there for ‘a few days’ – the land is privately owned and so it is a civil matter, not a borough council matter, to evict anyone that shouldn’t be there.
Nottinghamshire Police and Rushcliffe Borough Council are aware of the situation.
To be clear though in this case it is not a situation the council can solve via a legal remedy as it isn’t a council-owned site.
