Limited edition coins and jewellery stolen in shop burglary

Police officers are investigating a burglary which saw jewellery, cash and limited coins stolen from a Mansfield shop.

Thieves targeted the shop and took around £300 worth of goods, which included a gold ring, two silver rings, cash within the register and some limited edition coins.

Investigators have now issued a CCTV image and are appealing with anyone who recognises the man to come forward.

Police Constable Ryan Frew-McGill is leading the investigation. He said: “The force was called to Handley Arcade in Toothill Lane in Mansfield following a report of a shop theft at around 2.10am on 22 April 2021.

“It appears that the offenders gained entry through an upstairs window,

“Theft is totally unacceptable and we will always take action against offenders.

“Incidents like these not only harm businesses financially, but they can also be incredibly distressing for staff within the stores.

“We have now issued a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident. If you recognise him or if you saw anything suspicious in the area please come forward.

“We are aware that incidents like these can have an impact on local businesses and the community. We have increased patrols in the areas to provide reassurance to them and will be engaging with them to offer crime prevention advice.

“If you saw anything suspicious overnight on the evening of 21 April please call 101, quoting incident number 164 of 22 April 2021.”
