The A38 in Derbyshire is closed both ways between the A610 (Ripley) and the A61 (Alfreton) due to an ongoing Police led incident.
Derbyshire Police have not indicated how long closures will be in place for.
Diversion Route
Southbound traffic is advised to follow the Solid Diamond symbol
Light vehicles route:
Exit the A38(T) and take the A61 (north) King Street. Turn first left at the signalised junction onto the A615 (Each Well Lane), and travel west for 2km.
At the signalised junction at Oakerthorpe, turn left onto the B6013 and follow for 4.5km. At the next signalised junction, turn left onto the A610 and travel east to rejoin the southbound A38(T) at the Ripley grade-separated junction.
HGV route:
Exit the A38(T) at Watchorn grade-separated junction and head back north on the A38(T).
At M1 Junction 28, go south on M1 until Junction 26, turn right and travel west on the A610 for about 16km, to rejoin the southbound A38(T) at the grade-separated Ripley junction
Northbound traffic is advised to follow the Solid Circle symbol
Light vehicles route:
Exit the A38(T) at Ripley junction onto the A610 heading west (left) for 1.5km
Turn right at the signalised junction and continue on the B6013 for 4.5km. Turn right at the signalised junction at Oakerthorpe, onto the A615 (east) for 2km.
Turn right at the signalised junction onto the A61 (south) and rejoin the northbound A38(T) at the roundabout.
HGV route:
Exit the A38(T) at the Ripley grade-separated junction onto the A610 & head east (right) for 16.4km.
At the M1 Junction 26, take the northbound exit and continue to M1 Junction 28 torejoin the A38(T)
