‘The M1 northbound has now been reopened between J28 (Alfreton) and J29 (Chesterfield) following an earlier collision.
\Lanes 1 and 2 of (4) remain closed for ongoing recovery work and will be protracted as 7 vehicles are involved. Delays of 90 minutes remain so please plan ahead.’

‘On The M1 north J28 (Alfreton) – J29 (Chesterfield) the traffic caught between J28 and the scene is now being released past the scene in lanes 3 and 4 of (4).
It may take a while to get moving as the traffic was held for the air ambulance to land at the scene.

The M1 is closed northbound between J28 (Alfreton) and J29 (Chesterfield) following a multiple-vehicle collision.
All emergency services including the air ambulance will be attending the scene with no times for reopening at this stage.
A strategic diversion route is being installed and customers are advised to follow the below instructions.
Diversion Route:
Road users are advised to follow the Hollow Triangle diversion symbol on road signs:
Exit at J28.
At the roundabout take the fourth exit on to the A38 towards Mansfield.
Continue forward on to A617.
Remain on the A617 northbound/westbound to J29.
At the roundabout take the fourth exit to re-join the M1.

‘Traffic officers are on the scene, and all emergency services are en route.
