Live updates: M1 closed southbound J26 – J25 multi-vehicle collision

The M1 has been closed in a southbound direction from J26 for Nottingham.

The M1 southbound has now been reopened between J26 (Nottingham) and J25 (Derby) following an earlier collision.

All lanes past the scene are flowing with the vehicles in the process of being recovered from the hard shoulder. Residual delays of 30 minutes remain in the area.

Traffic Officers and contractors have cleared the vehicles and debris to the hard shoulder and traffic caught between J26 and the scene is being allowed past the scene.

ROAD CLOSURE: Drivers are being advised to avoid the M1 southbound between junctions 26 and 25 after it was closed following a three-vehicle collision.

Delays are expected for much of the evening in both directions while the vehicles are recovered.
