NH: Lane 3 and 4 (of 4) are closed on the M1 in Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire southbound between J28 and J27 following a serious collision.
Nottinghamshire Police are in attendance.
The M1 southbound was initially closed between J28 and J27 and traffic was stopped on the northbound carriageway between J27 and J28 to allow the air ambulance to land and safely access the scene.
There are long delays of at least 60 minutes above normal journey times.

Lanes 1 and 2 (of 4) have re-opened on the M1 southbound between J28 to J27.
Lanes 3 and 4 remain closed.
There are delays of at least 45 minutes, please allow extra time for your journey.

‘Road closed and queueing traffic due to crash, a lorry and a car involved on M1 both ways from J27 A608 Mansfield Road (Hucknall / Underwood) to J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield). Accident has reportedly happened Southbound.

At M1 Junction 28, exit onto the westbound A38.
At the grade-separated junction at Ripley, take the exit for the A610 and travel south-east around Ripley, through Codnor and back to the M1 at Junction 26.
