4 pm – Â All lanes reopened
National Highways 3:30 pm
Three lanes (of 4) remain closed on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire between J29 (Chesterfield) and J28 (Mansfield) due to a car fire.
@derbyshirefrs are still working to extinguish the vehicle, however it keeps re-igniting.
There’s now a 40-minute delay on approach.

‘Lanes 1,2 and 3 of (4) are closed on the M1 south J29-J28 near Tibshelf due to a car fire.
‘Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and traffic officers are working at the scene to reopen the lanes as soon as it is safe.
‘Please allow extra time for your journey as there are 30 min delays on the approach.’

‘Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to car fire on M1 Southbound between J29 A617 (Chesterfield / Mansfield) and J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield). Lanes one and two (of four) are closed. Emergency services are at the scene. Travel time is around 20 minute.’
