Noth Nottinghamshire Police and Nation Highways crews attended scene and a lane 1 (of 2) closure was implemented on the roundabout to avoid major disruption in the area though the peak traffic period.
With the lane 1 closure in place plans were made to a full closure to be implemented to allow recovery to take place. At around 18:50 the full closure of the A46 southbound was in place with 2 specialist recovery teams on scene and already to begin work.
Before the lorry can be recovered the potatoes need to be moved clear of the vehicle. Once recovery is complete National Highways service providers will assess the carriageway for damage following a diesel spill from the incident.
The lorry was righted at 19:30, however the work to recover it and its contents from scene continues.
