Lorry fire closes Nottinghamshire road in both directions

The road has since reopened.

 

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said:

‘At approximately 1734 yesterday evening (22 March) Eastwood, Stockhill Fire Station and Ashfield Fire Station attended a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) fire on Willey Lane, Moorgreen.

‘The LGV was well alight and crews quickly started putting the fire out using hose reels and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

‘The road was closed in both directions to allow firefighters to work safely and keep members of the public away from the fire.

‘The lorry was left in the hands of the driver and owner to arrange recovery.’
