A lorry struck a bridge causing significant damage.
The bridge at Ketton near Peterborough has been hit and badly damaged by a lorry.
East Midlands Railways says that as a result, trains cannot now be diverted and so all services between Nottingham and Peterborough will need to be via a rail replacement coach.
As a result:
‘Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich services will terminate at Nottingham.
‘Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street services will start at Nottingham.
‘Buses will run in both directions between Nottingham and Peterborough to connect with a train between Peterborough and Norwich.
‘There will be two buses running between Nottingham and Peterborough – one will stop at Grantham and one will run direct. If you are travelling to/ from Grantham then please check that you are on the correct rail replacement bus.
‘We are sorry for the inconvenience and the delay to your journey.’
