Lorry left wedged on embankment after early morning crash in Nottingham

A lorry became stuck on a steep embankment after leaving the road and crashing through a fence at an industrial estate in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Wingate Close at 4.15am on Wednesday after the lorry and its trailer collided with an industrial unit.

The driver, a man in his 60s, was freed from the wreckage and taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicle remains wedged between the industrial building and the sloping ground leading up to the damaged fence. Images from the scene show the rear of the trailer bent upwards on the incline, while the cab came to rest close to a warehouse.
