Louis Vuitton sunglasses, bag and trainers found among drugs haul in Nottingham

Two men with a taste for designer clothes including Louis Vuitton sunglasses found themselves in custody when a haul of drugs was found in their car.

Officers pulled over a car in Toton Lane in Stapleford when it was acting suspiciously on Thursday 13 July just before 5 pm.

A vehicle search was carried out where a large amount of cocaine, cannabis, cash, and mobile phones were recovered, some in a Louis Vuitton bag.

Police then decided to execute warrants at the two men’s addresses.

The first warrant at Exeter Road located a number of designer items including a pair of Louis Vuitton trainers worth around £1,000.

They also found two pairs of Louis Vuitton sunglasses worth £780 with the receipt attached. They had been paid for in cash.

There were also 10 shoe boxes containing 10 pairs of Air Jordan trainers, worth hundreds of pounds.

All the items were seized.

Police also executed a warrant in Noel Street where cannabis, suspected MDMA, and a mobile phone were recovered.

Both men, aged 24 and 22, have been arrested on possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

While being brought into custody, bags of white powder were also found hidden in one of the suspect’s jogging bottoms.

Neighbourhood Inspector Gordon Fenwick said: “This was a great result by officers working together to build up a picture of this suspected drug operation.

“What began as a car stop led us to a large number of drugs and a haul of designer items, some of which had receipts which showed they had been bought in cash.

“These items have been seized as we suspect they have been bought through the illegal supply of Class A and Class B drugs.

“We are now carrying out more work to determine the scale of this operation and to find out who else is involved.

“If we have reason to believe you are funding your designer lifestyle through illegal activities, we will seize those goods including your Louis Vuitton sunglasses.”
