The M1 northbound in Leicestershire, is closed from J23A (East Midlands Airport) to J24 due to a multi-vehicle collision.

‘All lanes are now reopen on the #M1 between J23A and J24 following the earlier collision. There are approx. 6 miles of congestion on approach which will now begin to ease. Thank you for your patience.’
Emergency services are at the scene along with National Highways Traffic Officers who are assisting with traffic management.
A Diversion route is in place for traffic travelling northbound.

Road users are advised to follow the Solid Square diversion symbol on road signs.
For traffic travelling northbound: –
- Exit the M1 at J23A.
- Take the slip road onto the A42 free flow lane to the A42/A453 Finger Farm Roundabout.
- Take the third exit onto the A453 southbound.
- Continue along the A453 southbound to M1 J24 interchange.
- At the interchange take the second exit onto the M1 Northbound.

‘Road closed and queueing traffic due to rolled over vehicle on M1 Northbound between J23A (Derby / East Midlands Airport / Tamworth) and J24 A50 (Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport). Congestion to J23 (Loughborough).’
