National Highways updates:
4:04 pm – The vehicles from the earlier collision on the #M1 north between J23 and J23a have been recovered and all lanes now open again. Delays remain in the area however due to volume of traffic currently.
3:10 pm – Long delays on the #M1 northbound between J23 and J23a due to a collision. 1 lane closed but traffic was stopped earlier for emergency services to deal with the incident. 30+ min delay.
A lorry and a flat bed truck have been involved in a collision at J23A.
AA Roadwatch reports:
‘One lane closed, queueing traffic for seven miles and delays due to crash, a lorry and a flat bed truck involved on M1 Northbound at J23A / A42 / A453 (Derby / East Midlands Airport / Tamworth).
‘Congestion to the northbound A42 which is queueuing back to J14.’
