National Highways says motorists should approach the area with caution.

National Highways said at 6 am Sunday 29 May:
‘Two (of three) lanes closed on the M1 southbound between J23 (Loughborough) and J22 (Markfield) due to a collision involving a car and lorry.
‘Car is heavily damaged and unable to be moved.

‘Recovery en route.
‘Please approach with caution.’
AA Roadwatch reports:
‘Two lanes closed due to crash, Lorry and a car involved on M1 Southbound between J23 A512 Ashby Road East (Loughborough) and J22 A50 (Coalville / Ashby-De-La-Zouch). Traffic is coping well. Lanes one and two (of three) are closed.’
