The M1 is closed in both directions J25 – J24 due to a collision.

UPDATE: M1 northbound has been reopened. There is a lane 4 (of 4) closure still in place whilst police and recovery remain on scene.

The northbound has been released in lanes 1 and 2 past the scene, to release trapped traffic, if you are stood in the carriageway, please return to your vehicle in preparation to start moving.
Emergency Services – including Nottinghamshire Police are in attendance.
Traffic is diverted:-
Southbound – to leave at J25 via the A52 westbound, A5111 southbound, A6 & A50 eastbound to return at J24. Follow the hollow square symbol.
Northbound – via the above route (roads in reverse order). Follow the hollow triangle symbol.
Nottinghamshire Police said:
‘Officers are in attendance on the M1 between junctions 24 and 25 and near Castle Donnington after reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a lorry and the central reservation of the motorway.
‘The M1 northbound and M1 southbound lanes between Junction 24 and 25 are closed while officers work to establish the circumstances.
‘A man has been taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
‘Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the M1 will remain closed until they have been cleared.’
Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “No one else is thought to have been injured in the collision and we are now hard working to establish the circumstances around this incident, the road will remain closed whilst we carry out these critical enquiries.”
