“This is in response to concerns about an increased number of car cruisers speeding along this route due to an event at the ‘Miles from Nowhere’ venue at Shipley Gate, near Eastwood, on Sunday, which is expected to attract up to 5,000 vehicles.

“An injunction is currently in place at junction 27 that bans car cruising in the area, but there has been an increase in this activity in recent weeks.

“Nottinghamshire Police will be present in the area to monitor the situation and motorists are advised to use alternative routes using junction 26 or junction 28 to access the M1. Motorists leaving the M1 from junction 27 will not be affected.
