There are delays of almost an hour for motorists.
Highways England said at 4:15 pm 17 September:
‘Please allow extra journey time if travelling M1 northbound Derbyshire. 2 (of 4) lanes remain closed between J28 and J29. There is approx. 8.5 miles of congestion, please add an extra 50 minutes on to your current journey time.’
AA Roadwatch said:
‘Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle accident on M1 Northbound from J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield) to J29 A617 (Chesterfield / Mansfield).
