M1 lane closed at J27 – multi-vehicle collision and fuel spillage

National Highways said at 6:57 pm on 8 April:

‘Lane 4 (of 4) is closed on the M1 northbound between J27 and J28 near Mansfield due to a multi vehicle collision.

‘Recovery is en route to scene.

‘Third party heat map reports 4.5 miles of congestion on approach causing 30 min delays.

‘Please allow extra journey time.’

AA Roadwatch reports:

‘Two lanes closed, queueing traffic for five miles and delays due to recovery work, crash, four cars involved and fuel spillage on M1 Northbound before J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield).’
