National Highways said:

‘Two lanes closed and very slow traffic due to people on the road on M1 Northbound from J23A A42 (Derby / East Midlands Airport / Tamworth) to J24 A50 (Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport).

‘Lanes one and two (of four) are closed.’
