M1 northbound two lanes closed – vehicle fire long delays

There are delays of up to an hour.

National Highways said at 2:33 pm Friday 27 January:

‘Two lanes are closed on the #M1 northbound between J27 and J28 in Derbyshire due to a vehicle fire.

‘Traffic is passing in one lane.

‘Please take care on approach.

‘There are currently 50-minute delays with congestion back to J26.’

AA Roadwatch said:

‘Long delays, queueing traffic for six miles and two lanes closed due to earlier vehicle fire on M1 Northbound between J27 A608 Mansfield Road (Hucknall / Underwood) and J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield). Congestion to J26 (Nottingham / Eastwood).’
