M1 reopens after accident – warning issued after vehicles aquaplaning

The M1 at Junction 23a has reopened after a short closure of one lane.

The motorway was closed for a short time after vehicles were involved in a collision in lane 3.

‘Message to all drivers, excessive rainfall is causing dangerous driving conditions and vehicles are hydroplaning, particularly on the motorways and main roads. Please take extra care.’
