There are long delays on the M1 southbound.
The M1 southbound is currently experiencing long delays of at least 60 minutes above usual journey times between junctions 17 (M45) and 16 (Northampton) due to an ongoing vehicle fire.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service are on scene and are working to extinguish the fire. Lanes 1, 2 and 3 (of 4) are currently closed whilst this work take place. The queue of congestion approaching the scene is approximately 7 miles in total back to J19 (M6).
