There are delays of an hour after a collision on the M1 this morning.
Update 9:10 am
On the M1 southbound between J21A and J21 near Leicester the vehicles involved in the earlier collision have now been recovered from the scene. Traffic officers have reopened all of the lanes with residual delays of up to 60 minutes and 8 miles of queuing traffic.
National Highways said at 8:02 am Monday 25 April:
‘Two of (4) lanes are closed on the M1 southbound between J21A and J21 near Leicester following a multiple vehicle collision.
“Emergency services and #TrafficOfficers are working at the scene.
“Please allow extra time for your journey as there are delays of 60 minutes on the approach.”
‘Two lanes closed, long delays and queueing traffic due to crash, two cars and a van involved on M1 Southbound between J22 A50 (Coalville / Ashby-De-La-Zouch) and J21 M69 (Leicester). Lanes three and four are closed, traffic is using lane one and the hard shoulder.’
