The incident happened between junctions 28 and 29 northbound.
National Highways said at 7 am Sunday 22 May:
‘Three lanes (of 4) are closed on the M1 northbound in Derbyshire between J28 (for Mansfield) and J29 (for Chesterfield) to allow a vehicle which has left the carriageway to be recovered.
‘There are no significant delays on approach at this time.’

‘Two lanes closed due to crash, a car involved on M1 Northbound before J29 A617 (Chesterfield / Mansfield). Traffic is coping well. Lanes one and two (of four) are closed.’
