M1 Update: Pictures of M1 collision released by police – serious but not life-threatening injuries

Police confirm no-one sustained life-changing injuries, the M1 has reopened.

National Highways confirm that the M1 has reopened southbound from J28.

The motorway was closed between junctions 28 and 27 this morning after a serious collision involving a lorry, which overturned, cars and a van.

Delays of up to 90 minutes were caused by the incident – there are still residual delays in the area as traffic normalises again.
