Police officers arrested two people after a machete was found stashed behind an electric box.
Police were called to the Bobbers Mill area following reports of a dispute where a weapon was brandished.
Nobody was injured during the incident, which happened in Ascot Road, around 7.40pm on Thursday (30 July).
The weapon-carrier travelled to the Clifton area, before stashing a bladed weapon behind an electric box.
This was recovered soon after by officers, who then found two people inside a nearby property.
A 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed article in public.
Police also arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“There is no excuse for anyone to ever brandish a bladed weapon and threaten someone with it.
“Following extensive inquiries, our officers were able to recover a machete that we believe was involved in this incident, before then arresting a pair of suspects.
“Any weapon we can take off the streets and out of harm’s way is undoubtedly a positive thing, so the officers involved deserve credit for helping us do this.”
