Man, 68, arrested after air rifle shot at house window

Police made an arrest after a woman’s window was shot at with an air rifle.

The homeowner called 999 after the incident in Bolsover Street, Mansfield, at around 12.30am on Friday (29 October).

Officers attended a suspect’s home address and found a large black air rifle by the front door.

A 68-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing the damage to the window and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Superintendent Justine Wilson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were very quickly on scene following this report which appears to have been an isolated incident with no wider threat to the local community.
